Creating Smart Notifications for Folders allows you to decide which folders are allowed to send push notifications for new messages. This is particularly useful if you have you have specific folders designated for messages from family members, co-workers, etc. because each time a new message arrives in that folder, you will automatically be notified.
To enable push notifications from a specific folder:
1. Tap the Nav icon at the left of your navigation bar to open the Navigation Drawer.
2. Tap the Gear icon at the bottom of the Navigation Drawer to bring up Settings.
3. Tap Mail.
4. Tap Notifications at the top of the screen.
5. Confirm that the Customize per account slider is on. If not, tap slider to display “Smart Notifications” option.
6. Tap Smart Notifications in the middle of the screen.
7. Confirm that Smart Notifications slider is enabled. If not, tap the Smart Notification slider to enable.
8. Tap Notifications from specific folders.
Note: Once the Specific Folders option is enabled, all synced account folders will appear.
9. Tap the box(es) next to the folders you wish to enable notifications.
Note: If you have created a rule to filter a particular email sender to a folder and have created a rule to block that particular sender, all email notifications will be blocked from that sender regardless if that folder’s notification setting is enabled.
